Ascension and Iron Cross are within a series of posters that employ digital photography as a major aesthetic tool. Both pieces are large-format graphical collages, consisting of various elements, such as macro photography, wide-angle landscapes, and industrial textures, into one unified, layered composition. With floral items, pharmaceutical components, and urban scenery all converging into a dark arrangement, Ascension and Iron Cross convey the beauty of natural, supernatural, and artificial matter.

The pieces were produced under the guidance of Design | Media Arts chairmen, Henri Willem Lucas, as part of the directed research curriculum. The posters were completed in time to be featured in UCLA Design | Media Arts Senior exhibition, Coalesce
